Who we are

AceSelective is an adaptive tutoring platform helping Australian students prepare for the NSW Opportunity Class and Selective School tests. Because our learners are children, we design for privacy first: parents create and control every student profile, and children never need their own email address or login.

What we collect

  • Account data — parent name and email (via secure sign-in).
  • Student profile — first and last name, school grade, optional target exam.
  • Learning activity — questions attempted, answers given, time spent, hints used, and derived signals such as skill mastery and engagement level. We use these solely to adapt difficulty and report progress to parents.
  • AI tutor conversations — messages your child exchanges with the tutor are stored so parents can review them and so we can improve tutoring quality.

AI processing

Tutor hints are generated by Anthropic's Claude models. We send only what the tutor needs: the question, your child's answer, and their first name. We do not send surnames, emails, or account identifiers to the AI provider.

Parental consent and control

A parent or guardian must consent before a student profile is created, and we record when and by whom consent was granted. Parents can archive a student profile at any time, and can contact us to request deletion of a child's data.

Storage and disclosure

Data is stored with Supabase (PostgreSQL). We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising. Service providers we rely on: Supabase (database and authentication) and Anthropic (AI tutoring).
